Accessibility

Our goal

We build WixForum Recipes to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to fix.

What we have done

• Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link.
• Pages use headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can move through them easily.
• Text and controls meet the AA contrast requirements in both the light and the dark theme.
• You can choose a light or dark theme, or follow your device’s setting.
• Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and pages adapt to small screens without sideways scrolling.
• Images that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Form fields have visible labels, and errors are explained in words next to the field.
• Recipe tools, such as the servings scaler, the measurement switch and the ingredient checklist, work with a keyboard.
• The printable recipe card leaves out menus and ads.

Known limitations

• Ads and the consent window are provided by our advertising partner and the companies it works with, so we cannot fully control their accessibility.
• Image descriptions are written from the recipe, so they describe the dish rather than every detail of a particular picture.

Compatibility

The site uses standard HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript. It is designed for the current versions of the major browsers and the screen readers built into common devices. Recipes and links remain readable even when JavaScript is turned off.

If something on the site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us through our contact form. It helps to include:

• the page address (or the recipe name);
• what you were trying to do and what happened;
• your device, browser and any assistive technology you use.

We will look into it and, where we can, fix it or provide the content in another way.

This statement was prepared on October 11, 2026, based on our own review of the site during development. We will update it as we test and improve the site.
