Notable singer, Fireboy DML recalls an incident that made him cry as an up-and-coming artist when fans could not recognize him at a show.
During an interview with Billboard News, Fireboy emphasized that every aspiring musician faces challenges before becoming a big shot in the music industry.
Sharing his worst experience as a newbie in the industry, the singer reflected on being invincible at a show where no one recognized him as a performer on stage.
According to Fireboy, he left the event in tears after realising how the audience, alongside the DJ, ignored him by playing music from other artists while the crowd danced to it.
“Every upcoming artiste always go through a lot of stuff. There was a show I went to perform and nobody even knew I was on stage or spared me a second glance. Everybody was just dancing.
“The DJ was just DJing. I felt invisible and I went back to the car with my friend crying. I told myself never again. I will never ask for something until I feel like I deserve it,” he stated.
His revelation sparked a wave of agreement from social media users who could relate to the same at their different stages in life.
