The Poolside Confession That Exposed the Truth About Marcus and Sean — Part 3 of 3
By WixForum KitchenPublished

I Stared at My Brother, and the Monster Stared Back
My brother stepped out of the shadows, his eyes fixed on the phone in my hand. "Give it to me, Jasmine," he said, his voice calm and terrifying.
"No," I said, my voice shaking but firm. "Not until you explain yourself."
He laughed, a cold, hollow sound. "Explain what? That Marcus is a liar? That he's been obsessed with Sean for years and made all of this up?"
"The photos say otherwise," I shot back.
"Photos can be doctored," he said, taking a step closer. "You know that. You're the one who taught me how to edit images in high school."
My blood ran cold. He was right. I had taught him. But I had also seen the raw files on Marcus's phone, and they were authentic.
"You're not going to gaslight me into doubting what I saw," I said, holding my ground. "This is real, and you know it."
His smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a flicker of something else — fear. But he quickly masked it.
"You're making a mistake," he said. "If you go to the police, you'll destroy this family. Mom and Dad will never forgive you."
"If I don't go to the police, I'll never forgive myself," I said, my voice cracking. "You hurt someone, and you have to face the consequences."
He stared at me, and for a long moment, I thought he might break down. But instead, he lunged at me, trying to grab the phone.
Marcus jumped in front of me, pushing my brother back. "Get away from her!" he shouted.
They struggled, and I saw my brother pull something from his pocket — a small knife. My heart leaped into my throat.
"Marcus!" I screamed.
But before anything could happen, the back door burst open, and Sean came running out, her eyes wild. She had heard everything.
"Stop!" she shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos. "I won't let you hurt anyone else, Derek."
My brother froze, his eyes on Sean. "Sean, I can explain—"
"You've explained enough," she said, her voice cold. "I've been hiding what you did to me for a year, but I'm done. I'm done being scared."
She pulled out her phone, already dialing. "I'm calling the police right now. And this time, I'm telling them everything."
My brother's face went pale. He dropped the knife, and it clattered on the concrete. "Please," he whispered. "Don't do this."
"You should have thought about that before you hurt me," Sean said, her voice steady.
The sirens came within minutes, and my brother was taken away. I watched as they led him out, his head hung low, and I felt a strange mix of sorrow and relief.
Later that night, as we sat on the back porch, the three of us — me, Marcus, and Sean — wrapped in blankets, I looked at them and said, "We did the right thing."
"It doesn't feel good," Sean said, wiping her eyes. "But it feels right."
Marcus nodded, his hand finding mine. "Thank you for believing me."
"Always," I said, squeezing his hand.
The truth had come out, and it had hurt. But sometimes, the truth is the only thing that can set you free. And as I watched the stars come out, I knew that we had made the right choice — not just for us, but for everyone who had been silenced.
Some secrets are meant to be broken. And this one had been shattered for good.
